Grand Hyatt Singapore Goes Paperless
We are proud to announce that Grand Hyatt Singapore will be taking another step towards a greener environment as of 1 October 2016 by introducing digital newspapers. The hotel has invested in a digital solution that allows us to eliminate the impact of 450,000 printed magazines and newspapers – the equivalent of saving 10 hectare of forests per year.
In line with the overall philosophy of the hotel, we are constantly looking for ways to make minimal impact on our environment. We have been busy re-engineering the entirety of our air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation systems, as well as launching our own Trigeneration plant (to reduce energy and water usage) which has reduced the hotel’s overall carbon footprint by nearly 1,200 tonnes a year - equivalent to taking 300 cars off the road per year. Going paperless was just another natural step towards sustainability.
Upon arrival, guests can simply connect to the hotel’s Wi-Fi network with their own device and download the complimentary newspaper apps with access to digital publications. iPads will also be available during their stay, based on availability.
